Lessons

Lessons are $34 for a 30 minute lesson. ($51 for a 45 minute lesson, etc.)

The Fall semester is Sep to Dec, the Spring Semester is January to May, the Summer semester is June to August.

Registration Policies

Payments: I require lessons to be paid for in advance.  You can pay for 1 or more months up front. Each month will be billed for the number of weeks I’m offering lessons, including any planned absences of the student. In short, I must require compensation in order to keep your weekly reservation set aside for your student.

Missed lesson: Whether or not notice is given, an absence of a student is a loss of time for my studio which can not be simply offered to another regular student.  No makeup lessons or refunds are guaranteed for absences.  I make every effort to reschedule lessons when enough notice is given or if the situation is extenuating.

Stopping lessons:  I require a written advance notice of at least 2 weeks before stopping lessons.  A refund will not be given when a month/semester is prepaid and a student doesn’t show up for several lessons, afterwards citing an intent to stop lessons several weeks into the past. Communication is key, let’s chat! 

Poor weather:  If I cancel a lesson day due to dangerous weather, there is no charge.  If students elect to cancel on their own, rescheduling or refunds are not guaranteed.  Be sure to have a backup plan discussed with me, so Skype or Zoom can be utilized in case weather prevents an in-person meeting.

Student illness:  Please use your best judgement concerning illness of the student, and if in doubt certainly give me a call. High fever, incessant coughing/sneezing, and flu are excellent reasons to stay home. A slightly runny nose is probably not. If a student stays home due to illness, no makeup lessons or refunds are guaranteed.

Safety of students:  Parents are responsible for the safety and well-being of the students before and after lessons.  Please be sure to plan accordingly, so children are safely delivered to the studio on time and picked up promptly at the end of their lesson.  I am not responsible for monitoring young students in the lobby. 

Concerts:  Live performance is a crucial element for a complete musical education, and I encourage all students to perform whenever possible.  However, students are never required to perform.  Check with me to see when the next performance opportunity is!
